About My Sewing
I "LOVE" to sew. I
would do it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if possible.
When I do sew, I pour myself into it, heart and soul. Most of the time I start
with one idea and end up with something totally different when I'm finished.
The creative process takes on a life of its own and the piece evolves from one stage to the next until I'm completely satisfied with my creation.
My inspiration comes from many places....nature, sewing
magazines,
quilt blocks, stained glass, and from some of the very talented seamstresses
who sell patchwork clothing and quilts on the internet. Actually almost everywhere I look, I see possibilities for some new project.
I start by washing, drying, and ironing my fabric to avoid
shrinkage
once the piece is done. All exposed seams are serged after they are sewn. If
there is an area that is fairly intricate with a lot of really small patches,
I will line it instead of trying to serge in tight spaces. As I sew, I iron
each seam, and then when I'm finished the whole piece is ironed once more to
make sure all seams lie
in the right direction. It really is a labor of love. And lastly, I have a smoke free home.
I'm going to try to get at least one new item done every
week. Since I have a regular job it might take a little "time juggling" in the
beginning. Please be patient, I have some really good ideas for
upcoming projects. I'm not doing custom clothing orders right now....it's much more
more fun for me if it's MY creation from start to finish.
If you have any questions at all (or comments) about anything
you see on the site, please don't hesitate to email me. I will contact you as
soon as possible, and always within 24 hours. Thank you for looking.
Some of my recent feedback on Ebay and other satisfied customers........
"I love the skirt! It is perfect. The added ruffle looks fantastic. The stitching is solid, even, straight. You have a wonderful eye for color. I can't say enough great things about it. Thank you so much, and I hope to be back soon for more!" Julia E.
